Have the document that guarantees that your material complies with the suitability requirements for contact with foods or other products

Materials that come into contact with food and other personal use products (pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, etc.) must comply with strict regulations depending on their type of material and where they will be marketed. The safety of these products must be guaranteed by the company that manufactures them as well as by the processors and importers of the materials that come into contact with the products. All parties involved must ensure that there are no migrations from the packaging that could affect the consumer health. We use compliance studies to verify that the packaging materials are suitable for contact with foods and other products. We also verify that said materials are chemically compatible for contact with the intended products. The above study is legally based on the Framework Regulation (EU) No 1935/2004 as well as specific measures (e.g. Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 for plastic materials, RD 891/2006 for ceramics, RD 847/2011 for polymeric materials) and other documents (recommendations, national legislations of other member countries) regarding the suitability for contact with foods.

Suitability of materials that come in contact with food

The following stages are involved in the development of the service:
  • An assessment of the raw materials used to manufacture the equipment, as documented by the company
  • Overall migration and specific migration analysis of analytes with specific migration limits
  • Preparation of the technical report to interpret the results, comparing the obtained data with the current legislation or other widely recognised regulations or conventions
The final document ensures that the tested material complies with the suitability for contact with foods or other products.
